Make Up Work

Hey there,

If you have not done an Antarctic Animal Poster

  • Please choose an animal that lives in the Antarctic, find information about what it eats and what eats it (food-web connections).
  • Make a poster, include pictures, and come talk to me about one last part of the assignment (biological adaptations). Actually, come talk to me from the start.

-and-
If you didn't make a prezi, you will need to choose a focus for your Antarctic Timeline presentation-- it could be some kind of technology (vehicles, scientific tools, communications, transportation, buildings) or any span of time.

Amundsen-Scott Photos

I posted an album of photos that my friend Michael Longueira has from his summer at Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station. Michael took some of them himself and he nabbed the rest off of a hard drive at the station. http://s1172.photobucket.com/user/AnaBen/library/Amundsen-Scott%20Summer

This gave me a good point of reference for comparison and comprehension.

One reason Antarctica is important to us:

The scientists in Antarctica are on the frontlines of trying to understand our planet. The continent is relatively untouched by humans and is therefore the best place to learn what the planet is like without human contamination. They are studying climate change, whale brains and the Big Bang. In this vast icy place that has been called a "wasteland", we are beginning to understand how the universe came into being and what Earth's chances are for a future.
